Think Globally, Serve Locally: Volunteering at the Atlanta Community Food Bank

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Join the World Affairs Council of Atlanta’s Young Leaders Executive Board in a meaningful morning of service supporting hunger relief efforts at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This volunteer opportunity brings together globally-minded professionals, students, and community members to support one of Atlanta’s leading community organizations. The event reflects the Council’s commitment to community engagement and a belief that meaningful connection with global affairs begins at home. 

Hunger is one of Atlanta’s most pressing challenges, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank is at the forefront of addressing hunger for thousands of Atlantans each and every day. 

Volunteers will spend the morning in the Hunger Action Center helping to sort, inspect, and pack food for distributions across metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Along the way, volunteers will have the opportunity to connect with fellow like-minded and community-oriented leaders while affecting real change in the lives of others. 

VOLUNTEERS WILL GAIN 

• Direct contributions to hunger relief efforts across metro Atlanta. 

• Connections with both Council members and community leaders in a collaborative and meaningful setting. 

• A closer look at the operations and community impact of the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
