What does the Global Leadership Fellows travel grant cover, and what expenses are not included?
Global Leadership Fellows travel grant coverage:
-
Up to $1,500 USD for round-trip, international airfare, taxes, and fees from Atlanta. Fellows are responsible for any costs that exceed this amount. This allocation is based on standard coach class tickets. Any upgrades (business class, first-class, comfort-plus) are not covered by the travel grant, World Affairs Council of Atlanta, or the Global Leadership Fellows program. Fellows are responsible for booking their own travel arrangements once the final itinerary is provided and submitting receipts and credit card charges to process reimbursements. Airline miles redeemed for airfare do not carry a cash value for reimbursement.
-
Single occupancy accommodations for overnight lodging, taxes, and fees arranged by the Global Leadership Fellows program. Fellows are responsible for personal lodging expenses, fees, and taxes outside of the final itinerary (i.e. taking personal time to arrive early or stay after the program).
-
Local ground transportation for activities listed in the itinerary.

Is there an attendance policy?
Attendance and participation are mandatory for the program days (Master Classes), scheduled activities and events, and International Immersion. Acceptance into the program requires participants to sign the Applicant’s Commitment to Attend and Participate in Program and International Immersion form and submit with their application. Presence and active participation are critical components of the Global Leadership Fellows program, which is designed to provide in-depth learning, skill-building, and networking opportunities.

Why is supervisor approval necessary?
Supervisor approval is necessary because attendance and participation are required at all Master Classes, events, and the international immersion tour. This approval ensures that your participation in the program is supported by your organization and helps confirm that you will be able to balance your work responsibilities with the program's commitments.
To obtain supervisor approval, you need to fill out the Supervisor Approval for Employee Participation form, which must be signed by your supervisor. Submit this form along with your application for the Global Leadership Fellows program. Without the signed Supervisor Approval Form, your application will be considered incomplete and will not be processed.

The recommender should describe the duration and the nature of your professional relationship. Letters should not be from friends or family members.
Assessment of Leadership Qualities: Description of your leadership capabilities and skills you have demonstrated in your professional career.
