Smith, the first Black woman to give a White House press briefing, is the real-life inspiration for the hit television show Scandal starring Kerry Washington. After the White House, Smith founded global crisis communications firm Smith and Company, representing clients such a Monica Lewinsky, Wesley Snipes, Angelina Jolie, as well as former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Micheal Vick. For more than 25 years, Ms. Smith has counseled presidents and world leaders through global crises, advised Fortune 50 CEOs through complex challenges, and helped manage the reputations of some of the world’s highest-profile individuals.
