Communications & Video Content Intern

About the World Affairs Council of Atlanta 

The World Affairs Council of Atlanta, a non-profit, non-partisan organization affiliated with the Washington, D.C.-based World Affairs Councils of America and Georgia State University, accepts undergraduate and graduate students as program interns each academic semester. As part of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta team, interns are instrumental in the Council’s ability to deliver relevant and impactful programs and research that inform and challenge new thinking about global issues.

About The Role

Council Interns have the opportunity to come face-to-face with global business leaders, diplomats, experts, and foreign dignitaries who we regularly convene to discuss pressing international issues. The internship is unpaid, but those accepted may be eligible for course credit as determined by their academic department. As a Communications and Video Content Intern, you will play a key role in editing and producing video content curated from the Council’s virtual and in-person programs. We are looking for candidates who

  • Develop appropriate video content (in Adobe Premiere Pro), spotlighting the Council’s programs to leverage social media engagement and attract more members and viewers 

  • Are eager to help the Council explore and implement new media channels (i.e., podcasts, live streaming for in-person programs) 

  • Prefer challenges, fast pace, new ideas, future focus, and an unstructured environment

  • Perform well in a creative, flexible, and multicultural environment

  • Possess good verbal and written skills

 

Location & Commitments

  • A minimum of 16 hours per week

  • This internship will be mostly virtual, with an opportunity to attend some in-person meetings and programs around the Metro-Atlanta area.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Proficient in the latest versions of Adobe Premiere Pro & Adobe Audition 

  • Knowledgeable about live streaming platforms and technologically savvy with video and live streaming equipment

  • Knowledgeable about social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and YouTube Live 

  • Basic skills in advertising and communications 

  • Basic skills in copywriting and proofreading
